The problem of Elvis' music being used in a film set in the 1920s is solved with some excellent songs that just about fit the period (Swing Down Sweet Chariot and Clean Up Your Own Backyard are the highlights). Marlyn Mason manages the difficult feat of being angry on screen for almost the whole film yet still being very likeable.
